Easter Tablescape
Who doesn’t love an Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch? Y’all know I love a good reason to throw a party so I wanted to share ideas for Easter! Growing up on a cotton plantation, my mom would always host an annual Easter egg hunt. Our family home sits back in a pecan orchard so it’s the perfect setting for a hunt. She would hide hundreds of eggs and everyone looked forward to it every year. I can remember the small details like the adorable decorated egg cookies she made and the beautiful smocked outfits and bonnets we wore. We enjoyed a picnic after in the front yard and it was perfect. I am so excited to start bringing back some of these traditions we had as a child that Mignonne will someday remember and look forward to.
This tablescape was so fun to create. I think one reason is that after the winter I am always craving color, warmer weather and spring flowers. Springtime might be my favorite season minus all the pollen. Let’s start with flowers! Luckily the day I went to Whole Foods they had tons of peonies. Always check there first. They seem to get them before everyone else. Peonies are my absolute favorite flower so you know me, I bought them all. I wanted the arrangements to scream spring so I brought in some tulips and daffodils. The yellow, pink and white compliment each other so well. I wanted the flowers to look natural. You don’t need to hire a florist every time you host a party. You can do it yourself! The easiest way to achieve a natural and effortless look is to grab vases of all different shapes and sizes and fill them with flowers. Don’t mix them, make it look like you picked them out of a garden and easily stuck them in a vase.
For the table, I decided this time I wanted to get a tablecloth to cover the entire table because mine is an antique and brown. While it is beautiful, brown doesn’t elude spring so I made a trip to Home Goods. Home Goods is always my jam for holiday décor. Start there first when making the rounds. You can always find unique, inexpensive items. My table is massive. It seats 10 but I was able to find the perfect pastel check tablecloth that completely covered my table. Sometimes in the past, I have had to get two smaller tablecloths and piece them together so I was elated to find one that fit and in pastel Easter colors! After finding the tablecloth, I made my way over to the bunny section because you can’t have an Easter party without bunnies! I loved these green topiary-like bunnies I found. The green just popped on the table. I bought two for both ends and added a pink blush ribbon around the necks of the bunnies. To bring in more pastels, I found the most perfect faux eggs that I scattered around the table and below the vases. For the center of the table I needed one more thing and that was Easter candy. I found the cutest bunny ceramic dishes at Home Goods and randomly put them throughout the table and filled them with my favorite Easter candies. That included, Cadbury chocolate eggs of course and jelly beans.
Now deciding what dishes to use was tough! There are so many beautiful things out right now. I wanted to use my Herand dinner plates for the base but I wanted a different salad plate to change the look from what I normally do. I just didn’t want to spend a fortune. Bunnies seem to be a trend for me so I was able to find these festive ones that matched my dinner plates. I chose a periwinkle blue linen napkin that I bought. I have a linen napkin obsession so I figured I would just add these to my collection. I’ll probably end up getting these monogramed later. You should see my linen drawer! For the drinkware I picked these tumbled turquoise glasses that make the table seem more whimsical and not so stuffy. Maybe one of my favorite parts of the table is the silverware I chose. I love the bamboo trend and found these. They actually were affordable and will be my go to for spring and summer this year! I used wicker chargers to make the whole table setting pop! I am so happy how everything turned out!
You can’t have a party without some personalized products…if you are from the south that is! Personalization will make your party stand out from everyone else. The invitation I designed was the inspiration for the party. You can find these invites here and other fun ones too. I designed some matching tags and made favors for everyone’s place setting. That way everyone can leave with a treat and also shows your appreciation for coming. Other personalized products you can add are cups and napkins. I’ve got a place in my pantry for these items too. I love me some custom products!
I hope you feel inspired and ready for Easter! I know I am. When planning my parties I always search every store from high to low to find the most perfect items and ones I can use again. Below you will find all my picks for this Spring including this adorable dress. Happy Easter planning, friends!
