Charleston Part 3: Ladies Who Lunch

You know you’re living your best life when you get together with 5 talented ladies in Charleston to create a fabulous tablescape! It began with a phone call from my friend Mary Huddleston of (Mrs. Southern Social) to design paper products for an upcoming project she was working on with Paige Minear (The Pink Clutch Blog). I have been a friend with Paige for a few years so of course I said YES! I’ve always wanted to work with Paige and Mary. They are both creative mommas and Southern hostesses so it was a no brainer to work with them on this. I’m the paper queen so us 3 combined I knew it would be fab!

Quickly Mary emailed me all the selections of the chairs, plates, napkins, chargers etc. and my mind started turning. I immediately drew up all kinds of items that we could incorporate in the shoot such as invitations, menus, stationery and calling cards. Everything the Southern lady would need to throw a wonderful party.

The purpose of the shoot was not only to collaborate with friends, create a beautiful tablescape, and paper goods but also to inspire others when throwing a party. We had everything figured out except we needed a place to take the pictures and a photographer. Two very important details. Paige has friends all over and reached out to her bestie, Krystine Edwards. Krystine has a fabulous home and back porch and said, “Why don’t y’all use my house?” Without hesitation we said absolutely! It made the shoot more personal and intimate being at Krystine’s home.

Next we looped in Andrea Kinnear. Luckily she was available! She is a talented photographer from Canada but now lives in Charleston with her husband. She was at the Southern C Summit too so now it turned into a Southern C Collaboration. If don’t know about this conference you should definitely look into it. It’s all about collaborating with other creative entrepreneurs and growing together. Sign me up because I am all about that!

The date was set and now it was party time! I love the selections Mary and Paige picked out. I love the unexpected orange and pink. These colors do not get used enough together and I think they compliment each other so well. We incorporated citrus which I love and I am seeing so much of. This tablescape could be used for so many things like a Bridal Shower or Luncheon, Graduation Party, Wedding Event or a Summer Supper. The options are endless!

This table was a dream and just makes me happy. I look at this table and it just screams SUMMER! Lets start with flowers. The flower arrangements were from Out of the Garden. They were natural, beautiful and just the right amounts of pink and orange and summer goodness. They had peonies, ranunculus and tulips. We used citrus fruits at the foot of the arrangements. I love that!

The linens were from La Tavola, which is a rental company that you can use for your events. They have hundreds of linens to choose from and all sizes. They also have napkins and chair cushions. Mary introduced me to this company and its pretty fabulous. I love a print for the tablecloth because it adds so much to the table. It just takes it up a notch and I’m all about print and pattern these days. The tabletop (flatware, plates, chargers, etc.) came from Ooh! Events and Please Be Seated. If you didn’t know, Mary and her husband also own Please Be Seated, which is an event planning and rental company. They are major talented and have the best taste. The chairs came from Ooh! Events. The napkin rings were from Epergne in Nashville and I love the bamboo trend. I think they completed the table setting.

The tabletop could not be complete without some paper goods. That is where I come in. I love adding a menu. It just adds so much and makes the event feel so personalized. I love how everything coordinates with the invitations and it all ties it together. Add place cards so the guests don’t have to worry about where to sit. Also it will make people get out of their comfort zone and socialize with others and not just their best friends.

Every party needs personalized cups and napkins! These adorable ones came from my friend Emily’s store, Emily McCarthy Shoppe. She has a million designs to choose from and these are from her low country collection, which was fitting since we were in Charleston. The stir sticks came from Acrylic Sticks. I just recently discovered this company and they are adorable! They have so many cute designs to choose and you can even personalize your own. It’s all about the details Y’ALL! I know I say adorable and cute A LOT but that’s how I feel about everything!!

This collab was so fun and now you can shop The Charleston Collection available on www.sweetcarolinedesigns.com. There are 4 invitation designs, envelope liners, calling cards, stationery, notepads and more. It is one of my favorites and I hope it inspires you for your next event. Thanks Paige and Mary for letting me be a part of this and Krystine for letting us use your home. After the shoot we sat and relaxed on Krystine’s beautiful back porch and sipped afternoon cocktails and played with her new sweet baby boy. That’s a rap Charleston but we will be back soon!
