Patio Reveal + Memorial Day Sales

Happy Friday friends and Happy Memorial Day weekend! Summer is officially here and we finally got our patio ready just in time to enjoy it. We moved into our home a year ago and getting the patio ready was not the first thing on this list. I am one of those people that I would rather have nothing there until I can get exactly what I want. Furniture can be expensive so we waited until some of our favorites went on sale. Lucky for you almost all our furniture is on sale this weekend so I thought it was the perfect time to share it.

Charleston Part 3: Ladies Who Lunch

You know you’re living your best life when you get together with 5 talented ladies in Charleston to create a fabulous tablescape! It began with a phone call from my friend Mary Huddleston of (Mrs. Southern Social) to design paper products for an upcoming project she was working on with Paige Minear (The Pink Clutch Blog). I have been a friend with Paige for a few years so of course I said YES! I’ve always wanted to work with Paige and Mary. They are both creative mommas and Southern hostesses so it was a no brainer to work with them on this. I’m the paper queen so us 3 combined I knew it would be fab!

Charleston Part 2 : Callie’s Biscuits

If you love homemade biscuits and carbs then you will love this read! When Paige, Mary and I decided on visiting Charleston we knew we had to grab some of Callie’s biscuits while we were there. We all met Carrie Morey, founder of Callie’s Charleston Biscuits, at the Southern C Summit conference back in February. She was a guest speaker at the summit and her story was inspiring for me, especially being a mother and entrepreneur too.

Charming Charleston

When two of my best friends invited me to join them on a last minute trip to Charleston a few weeks ago, without hesitation I said YES! Of course I had to check with Brett and make sure I could find some help for Mignonne, but everything seemed to align so I booked my flight and a week later I was in one of my favorite cities with the very best company.  I’m usually not a spontaneous person, especially when it comes to travel, but this seemed like the perfect opportunity for a fabulous collaboration and some time off for this momma.

Top Picks for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is around the corner so I thought I would round up some of my top picks for MOM! I am especially excited to celebrate this year because it’s my first Mother’s Day. Being a mom has changed my life. It’s been almost a year and I can’t imagine my life with out Mignonne. She has given me a whole new purpose in life. It’s been the toughest job I’ve had, challenging at times but the most rewarding for sure. All moms deserved to be celebrated! Show her that you care with one of my top picks.

Easter Peep Pinata

So let’s talk piñatas! What party wouldn’t be complete without a piñata? When I made my first one a few months ago, I was kind of nervous about it but come to find out it’s pretty easy! You can totally make one without spending much money and they make such festive pictures! Since it’s Easter, I thought an Easter Peep was the perfect piñata to make. What Easter basket doesn’t come filled with these marshmallow treats? So here we go! DIY below!

Easter Tablescape

Who doesn’t love an Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch? Y’all know I love a good reason to throw a party so I wanted to share ideas for Easter! Growing up on a cotton plantation, my mom would always host an annual Easter egg hunt. Our family home sits back in a pecan orchard so it’s the perfect setting for a hunt. She would hide hundreds of eggs and everyone looked forward to it every year. I can remember the small details like the adorable decorated egg cookies she made and the beautiful smocked outfits and bonnets we wore.  We enjoyed a picnic after in the front yard and it was perfect. I am so excited to start bringing back some of these traditions we had as a child that Mignonne will someday remember and look forward to.

Bunny Ear Floral Crowns

Hooray for my very first blog post! This was a long time coming and I am so glad you are here. My name is Caroline and I have a passion for making things. This passion began long ago, I would say even before I was born. It runs in the family for sure. I grew up with my Mom making everything for my siblings and I, from decorated cookies for school to hand made smocked clothes and pretty much anything in between. She also threw the most fabulous birthday parties! There are those sayings “Like Mother, Like Daughter” and “What goes around, comes around” and that holds true for my mother and I. I’ve been creative my whole life but it definitely has come full circle now that I am a Mom to a sweet baby girl, Mignonne.

Hi, I’m Caroline and I am so glad you are here! I’m a Mom to Mignonne Katherine and dog mom to George the goldendoodle. I’m married to Brett Hernandez and currently live Shreveport, La.

I own Sweet Caroline Designs which is a paper and gift company. I create colorful designs and products from invitations to planners. I enjoy fashion, baking and party planning! Here you will find DIY projects, fancy tablescapes, party tips and planning, favorite baking recipes and anything in between!
